Short of going nappy free, there’s nothing more comfortable for your new arrival than the lucious snuggliness of a cloth nappy!
Our first son, has been in cloth since he was born, has never suffered nappy rash, and hasn’t been exposed to the toxic chemicals that are present in many disposable nappies.
Some advantages of Cloth Nappies are:
- They’re environmentally friendly – you don’t need bleach, you don’t need to soak, and you don’t need 15L of water to create each one (as disposables do!!)
- They’re baby bottom friendly, you’re not exposing your child’s skin to chemicals such as polypropoleyne, tributyl tin, chlorine bleach to name a few!
- They’re economical – the initial outlay is the biggest cost, but using cloth nappies fulltime has saved us $1500 per child.
- They’re super easy to use, even my husband can handle a diaper change, in the dark, with a wriggly bub.
- They’re wonderful for when the tot is learning to walk, as the cushioning takes the ouch factor out stumbles
- They’re great to guage how much fluid your little one recieves
- They’re easy to make frugally if need be.
If your child deserves nothing but super soft snuggly bottoms, then cloth is the way to go for you – and take it from one very lazy “housewife” the washing is no more than what a usual baby puts out anyway!
