In This 3-Hour Class, We’ll Cover:

Newborn Care:

  • What your newborn will look like

  • Umbilical cord care & first baths

  • Diapering and changing basics

  • Soothing techniques (swaddling, holding, burping)

  • Fevers and when to call your provider

  • Realistic newborn sleep patterns — what’s normal, what to expect, and how to cope

  • What a typical day with a newborn might look like

 

Breastfeeding Basics:

  • Recognizing hunger cues

  • Breastfeeding positions & proper latch techniques

  • Why latch matters — and how to troubleshoot it

  • Easing engorgement, plugged ducts, & mastitis

  • Bottles, pacifiers, and when to introduce them

  • Pumping basics & milk storage

  • How dads can support breastfeeding

  • When to seek help from a lactation consultant

This one-time class is the perfect opportunity for you and your partner to come together and learn the essentials of newborn care and breastfeeding basics before your baby arrives.

 

Knowing what to expect - from how many diapers you’ll change to how often your baby will feed - can ease the transition into parenthood and help you feel confident and connected from day one.

This is a hands-on, practice-based class.


You and your partner will work with weighted, lifelike baby dolls and real newborn care supplies so you can practice holding, swaddling, diapering, soothing, and feeding positions together.

 

This isn’t a lecture—you’ll leave having actually done the things you’ll be doing at home.

 

No need to bring anything — we provide all the supplies (and snacks!).​​
